Engagement Sessions:
Engagement Sessions are a great way for me to get to know the two of you a little better. I get to see how you two interact and get a better feel for your personalities and how comfortable you are in front of the camera. All of this will help me get even better photos on your wedding day.
But the real benefit of the engagement session isn't for me--it's for you! All of the things I list above are true for you, too. You get to know me, my personality and my shooting style a little better. An engagement session is an opportunity for you to get used to being in front of the camera which will help you to feel more comfortable on your wedding day.
Your comfort level on your wedding day is the main benefit of having an engagement session. How you feel on your wedding day will be captured by my camera, so an engagement session can directly improve your wedding photos!

Personal & Group Photography:
How Does It Work?
While booking your session we will discuss the details of your photoshoot, such as location, style, (photo-journalistic, formal, traditional, relaxed), attire, and where you will ultimately display your photos. All of these details will help us work together to achieve the best end result: Capturing treasured moments that will last a lifetime
During a typical 2 hour session we will capture 50+ artistic & creative images in unique locations and settings of your choosing. We will then review the images and choose your favorites to be digitally enhanced to a quality level of True Fine Art.
Your images will then be uploaded to a secure website where you can choose to order any print in any size or style.
Albums, gallery wraps, and canvas prints are also available.
Things to Consider...
Bring Props: Bring something that will help reflect this special time in your life. Perhaps sports equipment, musical instruments, pets, cars, trucks, motorcycles, hobbies, etc. Please let us know before your appointment.
No Cheese: I never force anyone to smile, nor do I pose people into uncomfortable positions. I believe it is best to suggest ideas, and let the images take shape as naturally and comfortably as possible.
Glasses: To properly light every member of the family, glare from eyeglasses is usually unavoidable. Those who wear glasses should either bring an old pair of frames with the glass removed or have their current lenses removed for the portrait. See if you can borrow a set of matching frames from your Optician for the portrait. They are often familiar with this request.

Choosing the Perfect Location...
Back Roads: Drive the "back roads" to find an interesting place and ask the owner if you could be photographed there for your senior portraits. People are flattered that you’d like to use their yard!
Look for Character: A deserted house, dilapidated front porch, untended yards with trees and unmowed grass, fences, non-working farms with weathered barns and wood sheds, rusting junk cars and trucks, alleys, abandoned buildings, interesting architecture, areas with shade and shelter from the elements, locations that match your clothing.

What to Wear?
Below are a few helpful outfit ideas for creating a great balance between family members for a consistent look. What to Avoid: Avoid patterns (plaids, stripes, prints), white, red, and "trendy" styles that will make your portrait look dated in a few years. Tweed, camel hair, knits and even denim add interest without giving a "busy" or "cluttered" feeling.
